Palak began learning Kathak in 1993, from Shoba Kauser at the Pracheen Kalakendra dance school in Chandigarh, India. On moving to Canada she first studied tap and jazz dance in Thunder  Bay. In 2002 Palak resumed her Kathak training, first at the India School of Dance, Music and Theatre; and since May 2003 at Jhankaar School of Dance in Winnipeg under Usha Sharma. In the summer of 2005 she trained in Faridabad, India under Guru Bharadwaj, and received Second Prize in the “Main Hoon Star” Doordarshan TV dance competition. Palak has performed in many community cultural events in Winnipeg and abroad. She joined Manohar in 2006, and has appeared in Kirchian.
