Nivedita has trained in Bharatanatyam from the age of six under Guru Hema Govindarajan and Guru Padmini Rao of Bangalore. She has appeared in numerous performances in India, including the 1990 Shankarabaranam Trust Children’s Festival and the full-length dance dramas Chamaraj Vilasa, Ashtalakshmi, Navaratri Navashakti and Urvashi Vilasa. She is a winner of the 1995 Nattiya Priya and MGR awards from Chennai, and since her arangetram in 1995, has been selected as a solo artist for the Karnataka Television Network and Doordarshan. She holds a Senior Level Bharatanatyam Certificate from the Karnataka government. With Manohar, Nivedita has played a Devadasi in La Bayadère – The Temple Dancer, a Dancer in Steps and Echoes and Gargi in The Game.
