Jayadev has a dance career spanning over twenty-eight years. He was trained in Bharatanatyam by Padma Subrahmanyam of Chennai; Kalarani Ramachandran of Madurai; and Guru S. Krishnamurthi and Ketaki Narain of Delhi. He has performed many recitals in India, Canada and the United States, and is the recipient of several gold medals in dance competitions in India. Jayadev made his debut with Manohar as an Elemental Spirit in Alchemyth and has since danced the roles of Shiva in Yatra/Journey, Prince Surya in La Bayadere – The Temple Dancer and Court Poet in Steps and Echoes. Jayadev’s strengths lie in his immaculate footwork and knowledge of dance theory; he is actively involved in source translation and choreography for Manohar productions. He currently lives in Ottawa where he trains under Sheela Chandrasekar.
